FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JACKSONVILLE, FL — In a city where the dining scene is heating up fast, Pearl Hospitality Group is set to shake the table. The rising hospitality powerhouse just announced two genre-defining restaurant concepts that will elevate Jacksonville’s culinary and cultural landscape: Norikawa, a refined modern Japanese omakase, and Koto, a Japanese listening bar and izakaya inspired by Tokyo vinyl culture and LaVilla’s jazz roots.
Koto is slated to open Winter 2025 at 927 W Forsyth St in the heart of LaVilla. Norikawa will follow with a Mid-2026 debut at 1 Riverside Ave, offering panoramic views of the St. Johns River.
Jacksonville is ready for something different, something soulful and elevated,” says a Pearl Hospitality founder. “We’re not just opening restaurants. We’re building experiences that connect people through food, sound, and story.
Koto: The Beat of LaVilla, the Soul of Tokyo
Koto is Jacksonville’s first Japanese listening bar and izakaya, combining communal dining with curated vinyl playlists and craft cocktails in a vibey, analog-inspired space. Guests will enjoy Japanese comfort fare, from grilled skewers to crispy karaage chicken, set to the backdrop of HiFi sound and LaVilla’s historic jazz spirit.
“It’s not just a place to eat,” says the team. “It’s where you come to feel. To vibe. To eat bold flavors and hear something you didn’t know you needed.”
Norikawa: Modern Japanese Dining on the Waterfront
Norikawa promises an upscale dining experience and an intimate omakase journey led by Chef Francis Varias, known for his precision and respect for ingredients. With design inspiration drawn from its sister concept, Norikase, the restaurant will marry minimalist Japanese aesthetics with an elevated riverside setting. Expect a mix of Edomae-style and modern takes on sushi, inventive small plates, and an elite beverage program featuring rare Japanese whiskies and sake.
“Every dish at Norikawa is a study in balance,” says Chef Varias. “We honor tradition but move with intention. It’s about purity, precision, and pleasure.”
